BHC adjourns proceedings on LG polls postponement

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court on Tuesday adjourned for one day the hearing of petitions seeking the postponement of local government elections in Quetta. The court will now resume hearing the case on Wednesday, December 24.

Petitions against holding LG elections in Quetta which are scheduled to be held on December 28, have been filed by PML-N, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Awami National Party and PkNAP.

Separately, a consultative meeting on proposed amendments to the Balochistan Local Government Act, 2010, was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Local Government and Rural Development Abdul Rauf Baloch.
