QUETTA: Six people were killed on Monday in separate violent incidents in Balochistan, including three brothers who died in an armed clash in Noshki and a mother and son who were gunned down in the Nasirabad district, police said.

In the Noshki area, four men were killed during a dispute between two groups in Killi Qadirabad on the town’s outskirts. Police attributed the violence to a disagreement over a property rental.

“Both the groups took weapons against each other in a small dispute over renting out a vacant shop which led to the bloody clash and resulting in [the] killing of four persons which include three brothers,” a senior police officer said.

The officer added that the victims sustained multiple bullet injuries and died at the scene.

Police identified the three brothers as Babu Alam Khan, police Constable Beberg Khan and Zulqarnain, the sons of Dinar Khan Badini.

The fourth victim, who belonged to the opposing group, was identified as Sohail Ahmed, the son of Muhammad Ayub Badini.

Following the incident, grieving heirs placed the bodies on the national highway, blocking the Quetta–Taftan Highway to all traffic in protest. The blockade caused long queues of vehicles, leaving passengers stranded.

Separately, in the Nasirabad district, unknown armed men opened fire on Court Road in Dera Murad Jamali, killing a mother and her son.

According to police, unidentified motorcyclists fired at Sabiha Bibi, a resident of the Tamboo area, and her son, Zameer Ahmed, before fleeing. The victims were transported to Dera Murad Jamali Hospital where they succumbed to their wounds.

Police have registered cases regarding both incidents and said further investigations are underway to trace the suspects. Authorities said the motive behind the killing of the mother and son remains unknown.

The bodies were handed over to the families after the completion of medico-legal formalities.
