ISLAMABAD:Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has emphasised that cultural exchanges between Tajikistan and Pakistan would further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries.
He was visiting the Tajikistan-Pakistan Cultural Festival in Islamabad, where the Ambassador of Tajikistan , Mr Sharifzoda Yusuf received him.
Mr Khan appreciated the 75-member cultural troupe from Tajikistan, currently visiting Pakistan, for their impressive performance at Lok Virsa. He praised the Tajik artists for their outstanding performance and conveyed words of appreciation and encouragement.
The Federal Minister said that there exists a deep-rooted cultural and civilizational bond among Central Asian states, which serves as a strong foundation for closer cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the Tajikistan government for sending the cultural delegation to Pakistan and added that Pakistan is keen to promote cooperation with other Central Asian states as well.
On the sidelines of the event, Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf held discussions with Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on various matters. The ambassador also informed the federal minister that the Tajik cultural troupe will perform in Lahore as well.
Tajikistan’s Minister for Culture Matlubkhon Sattoriyon also met the Federal Minister and, on behalf of the people of Tajikistan, expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s warm hospitality.
The event at Lok Virsa was also attended by the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Aurangzeb Khan Khichi.
