Govt launches scooter-riding training for women

KARACHI: The Sindh government has started a scooter-riding training programme for girl students and working women in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said in a statement that the training had begun in Korangi, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Malir in Karachi and in Hyderabad.

He said the programme will soon be expanded to other cities of Sindh, including Sukkur, Lar­kana, Shaheed Bena­zirabad and Mirpurkhas.

He explained that the training focuses on safe scooter riding. He said that working women were encouraged to apply for the ‘pink scooter’ scheme across all districts of Karachi.
