TOBA TEK SINGH: An allegedly notorious drug dealer was killed during an encounter with a Toba CCD team in the vicinity of Kamalia, while two of his accomplices escaped. Police claimed that late on Tuesday night, the CCD police were on a routine patrol near Chak 711 GB Kamalia when three suspects opened fire on the police team.

Police claimed that the team also opened fire in the air for their own safety. During this, police claimed that one suspect identified as Wali Khan, a resident of Mohalla Garh Gojra, was killed, while the two suspects escaped.

Police claimed that the deceased was a notorious drug dealer and had several cases registered against him, including that of drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, a suspect was arrested during an alleged encounter with the Lyallpur Division CCD in the Factory Area Police Station limits.

According to the police report, Lyallpur Division CCD In-charge Inspector Siddique Cheema along with his team tried to stop three suspicious motorcycle riders at the Boharwala Chowk on Jhang Road. However, police claimed the suspects opened fire on the police party.

After an exchange of fire, one suspect was arrested in an injured condition, while his two other accomplices managed to escape. He was identified as Khurram Shahzad alias Shani of Chak 202 RB.

Police claimed to have recovered a pistol and drugs from his possession and shifted him to the hospital.

one killed: A passenger died and 12 others were injured when a Lahore-Quetta bus collided with an out-of-order tractor-trolley parked on the Majhi Sultan Road near the Majhi Sultan railway crossing in Jhang on Wednesday.

Rescue 1122 said that the deceased was identified as Abdul Wali of Quetta.

They said the passengers with minor injuries were given first aid, while the three seriously injured passengers were shifted to the Jhang DHQ Hospital.

They were identified as Syed Muhammad Mohsin (49), Fazal Muhammad (33) and Adnan Khan (34).

INJURED IN FIRE: A man was seriously burnt when a fire broke out in a house in the Madina Town locality of Faisalabad late on Tuesday night.

Rescue 1122 officials said that gas leaked from a heater causing a fire that engulfed the whole room. The injured, identified as Muhammad Umar (30), was asleep in the room and he received critical burns when his bed caught fire.

He was shifted to the Allied Hospital’s burn unit.
