PESHAWAR, June 8: Educationists have called upon the parents to provide equal opportunities of education to their daughters. “We should focus on educating our sisters and daughters, because educated mothers can bring up children in a better way,” said Professor Dr Ahmad Ali, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Peshawar.

He was speaking at the 51st prize distribution ceremony of the junior section of the University Model School here on Thursday.

He said teachers and parents should equally participate in the efforts to elevate the graph of girls’ education.

“Character-building of students should be priority of teachers as well as of parents”, he said.

He stressed the need for teaching the subject of Information Technology at primary level to enable the students to cope with future challenges.

School Principal Liaqat Usman also highlighted the importance of girls’ education.

She gave an overview of the school and said that efforts were being made to further elevate its education standard.

She said that the school had produced persons who were playing an active role in national development.

Some of the school students presented tableaux, Naat and national songs on the occasion.—APP
