KARACHI, June 8: Three ships to load and offload containers and chemicals were accommodated berths during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, one more ship carrying chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 56 per cent as only six ships were occupying berths to load and offload containers, yellow peas, sugar and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 45,701 tons comprising 30,979 tons of import and 14,722 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were active as P&O Nedlloyd Muscat, Gallant Wave, Sea Journey and Anette Kosan left the port while Bavaria Express and Ocean Harmony were due to depart.

Six ships, Oel Aishwarya, Beirut, Lady Mafra, Al-Maqwa, Samho Heron and Chemroad Mega were due to arrive on Friday.
