PESHAWAR, June 7: Welcoming a decision of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital to establish a ‘walking and evaluation clinic’ in the NWFP, Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai has stressed the need for studying the possibility of setting up a full-fledged branch of the hospital in the province.

Talking to Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Hospital chief executive Dr Faisal Sultan here on Tuesday, the governor said that almost 15 per cent patients being enlisted annually by the hospital in Lahore belonged to the NWFP.

He said a full-fledged cancer treatment hospital in the province would be a great service to the people of the area.

Referring to the request for extending due cooperation in getting suitable land on payment for the project, the governor said that the organisation should identify their choice which would definitely be supported.
