Two robbers killed in encounter

JACOBABAD, June 6: Two robbers were killed in an encounter here on Monday night in the jurisdiction of Dodapur police station while their accomplice fled. According to reports, three robbers Siddique Bhangar, Mohammad Khan Buledi and Khair Mohammad Jagirani snatched a car from Tariq Odho near Gulab Marhi village at gunpoint.

Mr Tariq informed his brother Aijaz Odho and villagers about the incident. The Tajo Dero police post was also informed.

Constable Himath Ali and villagers chased the car. When the car came close to the police picket, police and villagers opened fire.

A four-hour encounter took place, killing one robber, Siddique Bhangar, on the spot and seriously injuring another, Mohammad Khan Buledi. However, their third accomplice Khair Mohammad Jagirani fled.

DPO Munir Ahmed Khuhro reached the spot and shifted injured and body to the Civil Hospital Jacobabad.

Injured constable Himath Ali and villager Aijaz Odho were also injured and shifted to the civil hospital Jacobabad.

Mohammad Khan Buledi died in the hospital. The robbers were resident of Balochistan.

DPO Munir Ahmed Khuhro told reporters that Himath Ali Brohi would be promoted.

Speaking at a press conference, DPO Muneer said here on Tuesday that two notorious dacoits wanted in many cases had been killed in a police encounter on Monday night.

He said notorious dacoit Siddique Bhangar was involved in 41 murder cases, including 14 of police constables.

Another dacoit, Mohammad Khan Baloch, had also been killed in the encounter, he said.
