KARACHI, June 6: The members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in the Sindh Assembly have criticized political parties supporting the land mafia and air polluters in the city. In a statement, the MPAs said that while the land grabbers and auto-rickshaws emitting hazardous smoke deserved all condemnation, some political parties, including the Jamaat-i-Islami, were allegedly out holding rallies and observing strike in their favour.

They said the JI and other parties like it had provided enough ground to understand that they were against the people and wanted them to die by inhaling poisonous smokes and lose their income to land grabbers.

In another statement, Haq Parast members of the National Assembly have urged the JI Chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, not to bother Karachi and rather pay attention to the MMA government in the NWFP.

Instead of visiting Karachi frequently and making unnecessary propaganda, Mr Ahmed should pay attention to the law and order in rhe NWFP.

The law and order situation in Karachi was far better now and its people will not allow anybody to conspire further against them, the members added.
