HYDERABAD, June 5: The Sindh Employees Alliance has rejected statement of the Sindh chief minister about banning teachers’ organisations in the province. At a meeting of the SEA action committee held here, leaders said that any such move would be resisted and the chief minister would be held responsible for consequences.
SEA leader Rafique Jarwar presided over the meeting.
The meeting also announced schedule of protest demonstration which would be held in Ghotki, Sukkur, Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot and Karachi.
MATA: The Hyderabad chapter of the Masjid School Teachers Association took out a procession from Hyder chowk to the press club in protest against price hike.
The district president of the association, Moula Bux Lashari said that the increase in prices of essential items had affected the poor teachers and other low-paid government employees.
He said that a headmaster of primary school was getting only Rs60 per month as allowance and demanded that the allowance should be increased to Rs1,000.
He demanded that the salary and other allowances should be increased by 100 per cent as prices of essential commodities had also increased at the rate of 100 per cent every year.
Mr Lashari said that separate colonies should be constructed for teachers and the employment quota of teachers’ children should be restored.
APA: The Association of People’s of Asia has welcomed the bus service between Pakistan and China.
It said that the measure would add a new chapter to the Pakistan-China relations.
In a statement issued here, the president of the APA Pakistan chapter, Khursheed Shaikh, Zafar Rajput and Abbas Ali Jafri called upon prime ministers of the two countries to ensure that all snags to start the bus service were removed before the scheduled date.
They said that the bus service would prove to be a harbinger of new relationship between the two countries and it would go a long way in boosting and cementing trade relations.
