BAHAWALPUR: The 20th five-day International Cholistan Desert Rally will be held in the vast desert touching the boundaries of three districts -- Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahimyarkhan -- from Feb 4 to Feb 8, 2026.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Monday, presided over by Commissioner Ms Musarrat Jabean attended by Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooq, Additional Commissioner Dr Nayyar Mustafa, Mahmood Majid Chaudhury of Jeep Racing Club and officials of different related departments.

Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) managing director and general manager, besides Bahawalnagar DC Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon and other officials concerned participated in the meeting through video-link.

According to a handout, addressing the meeting, the commissioner said that the event would also project Bahawalpur’s cultural life and civilization throughout the world, adding that international players were also expected to participate in it.

The commissioner directed the departments concerned to finalise all arrangements, including the road repairs, accommodations of racers, amusement for the spectators and fool-proof security of the event, ahead of the event.

She directed the DCs to hold cultural events in their respective districts during the event.

DPO Hassan Iqbal assured the meeting of strict security measures for the jeep rally participants and general public visiting Cholistan from across the country during the event.
