ISLAMABAD: A judicial magistrate on Monday issued arrest warrants for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a liquor and arms recovery case after he failed to appear before the court despite repeated summons.
Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti took up the case, while Mr Gandapur once again remained absent, prompting the court to issue arrest warrants and direct his production at the next hearing scheduled for November 24. The case was registered at the Barakahu police station.
Meanwhile, proceedings in the controversial tweet case against lawyer Imaan Mazari and her spouse Hadi Ali Chatha were adjourned by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka until November 19.
During the hearing, Ms Mazari submitted a new power of attorney, and her counsel requested additional time to prepare arguments.
Judge Majoka observed that the court would record testimony and conduct cross-examination at the next hearing, instructing all parties to ensure full preparation. The case has been registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) under relevant cybercrime laws, and hearings are underway.
The court subsequently adjourned proceedings and fixed November 19 for further hearing.
