SUKKUR, June 4: PML president Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has said that the government had not made any promise to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement about a job quota in Sindh.

He said that all jobs in the province would be given purely on merit.

He was talking to newsmen at “Saraey Adam Khan”, the residence of Mir Asghar Panhwar in Jacobabad on Sunday.

He said that all problems pertaining to the Sindh coalition had been solved satisfactorily.

PML secretary-general Mushahid Hussain Syed, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf, provincial minister Dr Suhrab Sarki, Senate Deputy Chairman Mir Jan Mohammed Jamali, Mir Asghar Panhwar and Khan Mohammad Jamali were present on the occasion.

Chaudhary Shujaat said he had no differences with Mir Zafarullah Jamali over the presidentship of the party.

He said that it was Mr Jamali’s democratic right to take part in party elections.

He said that the reorganisation of the PML was under way and workers who supported the party in the hour of need would be given preference.

He said that he was proud sitting at a place where Quid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah had presided over a meeting of elders of Panhwar and Jamali biradaris in 1938.

He urged Mir Asghar Panhwar to prepare a list of workers of the PML who had not got what they deserved.

Chaudhary Shujaat also went to Rojhan Jamali where he offered condolences to former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali over the death of his cousin Mir Abdul Ghaffar Jamali.

He said that early solution of the Kashmir dispute would help to end hostile feelings among the people of the two countries.

He also attended a luncheon hosted by Mir Zafarullah Jamali and had one-to-one meeting with him.

Both the leaders discussed political scenario of the country and matters pertaining to the party.
