KARACHI: A man was shot dead in his own home by robbers in Sharafi Goth on Thursday morning, police said.

Area SHO Qamar Abbas said three suspects entered a house in Shah Ali Goth with the intention of committing a robbery.

However, the inmate, 50-year-old Shahid Khan, put up resistance, and the robbers opened fire on him and fled without any loot, the officer added.

The victim sustained critical wounds and died while being taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The incident occurred at 10:30am.

Young man gunned down in Pak Colony

A young man was gunned down in Pak Colony late Wednesday night.

Area SHO Zafar Ali Shah said that the deceased, later on identified as Mohammed Haider Raza, 35, was shot and killed by unidentified suspects in Jehanabad near Makka Kanta. He said the motive could not be ascertained immediately. The body was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
