LAHORE: The Ravi Urban Development Authority (Ruda) claims to have sealed offices of as many as 14 illegally developed housing schemes within territorial limits of the River Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) area over the last 30 days.

According to officials, the Ruda teams carried out several operations, dismantling infrastructure and sealing offices of 14 housing societies in the project area jurisdiction.

The operations were led by the enforcement wing along with police personnel. The Ruda enforcement teams also halted the sale and purchase of plots in the unauthorised locations in Ravi city.

On Monday, a Ruda team also carried out an operation at Ghausia Colony situated at Katarband Road in Ravi city jurisdiction and sealed colony office besides dismantling infrastructure there.

The enforcement officials have also warned that any housing scheme operating without proper approval would be declared illegal, and their offices would face sealing and demolition.

MoU: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) and the department of health and population welfare on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide on-site medical facilities to PHA employees through the “Clinic on Wheels” initiative.

Under the agreement, the department will deliver healthcare services to approximately 8,000 PHA employees at their workplaces via mobile medical units. In return, the PHA will be responsible for enhancing horticulture and greenery in hospitals under the primary and secondary healthcare department.

The signing ceremony was attended by Punjab Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare Khwaja Imran Nazir, PHA DG Raja Mansoor Ahmad and Special Secretary Health Aun Abbas, who formally signed and exchanged the documents.

Senior officials Ahmad Saeed Manj and Sonia Kaleem were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Imran Nazir said the Punjab government is committed to ensure quality healthcare facilities to every citizen.

“The chief minister’s vision is to make healthcare accessible and convenient for all, bringing medical services closer to people’s homes and workplaces,” he said, adding that the “Clinic on Wheels” project is a valuable gift for PHA employees, allowing them to receive medical check-ups and medicines at their work sites without having to take leave or visit hospitals.

In his remarks, PHA DG Raja Mansoor Ahmad shared that more than 800 parks across Lahore are maintained by nearly 8,000 PHA workers.

He further stated that under the agreement, the PHA will take steps to improve horticulture and green environments in government hospitals. “This partnership marks another step forward in the Punjab government’s mission to expand accessible and people-friendly healthcare services while promoting a healthier and greener environment across the province,” he said.

PRICE CONTROL: The Lahore admin claims that the assistant commissioners, Pera and price magistrates are constantly active in markets across Lahore, conducting surveillance of every price. As a result of these continuous actions by admin, a significant reduction in prices has emerged.

According to a spokesman, the price of grapes has seen a decrease of Rs25 per kg and it is now available at Rs590 per kg, down from Rs615. Similarly, the price of guava has also recorded a decrease of Rs5 per kg, dropping from Rs195 to Rs190 per kg. Along with these price reductions, the prices of other basic necessities, including potatoes, onions, tomatoes, and green chilies, have remained stable over the past 48 hours. The prices of bananas, apples and dates have also maintained stability.
