RIYADH: Pakistan’s Qudratullah and Fatima Zahra claimed bronze medals after bowing out in the semi-finals of the boxing event of the sixth Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh on Sunday.

Qudratullah lost the men’s 55kg bout to Amir Mohamed Farag Ahmed Kelany of Egypt in the semi-final while Fatima was defeated also by an Egyptian in their last-four fight.

Qudratullah had qualified for the semi-final after overpowering Sudan’s Mohamed Othman 10-0 in the quarter-final. Fatima had outclassed Algeria’s Hamda Melissa 5-0 in their 60kg quarter-final bout.
