AT leader shot dead in Mehar

DADU, June 3: Five armed men shot dead Abdul Wahab alias Shahbaz Khoso in Khoondi village on Friday night. The deceased was general secretary of Awami Tehrik’s Mehar taluka chapter.

He was asleep along with four guests in his otaq (guest house) when the assailants barged into the building and held the guests hostage in a room.

They shot dead Wahab Khoso and escaped from the village.

A large number of activists of Awami Tehrik and villagers held a demonstration to protest the murder of Mr Khoso.

They placed the body outside the gate of taluka hospital and blocked the Indus highway for three hours.

Awami Tehrik Mehar taluka president Mashooq Chandio led the protesters.

Protesters demanded that the culprits should be immediately arrested.

They threatened that a protest movement would be launched against police if the killers were not arrested in three days.
