7 of a family shot dead in US

CHICAGO, June 2: Seven members of a family, including three children, were shot dead at a house in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Thursday. According to police, assailants armed with assault rifles entered the home late in the night.

The bodies of the victims were found inside the home; the three children were still in their beds.

The massacre shocked the midwestern city.

“We do not have these kinds of crimes,” police chief Mike Spears said at a press conference.

Police identified a suspect in the slaying, a repeat and violent offender named Desmond Turner.—AFP
