PESHAWAR, June 1: Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said it is possible to achieve durable peace in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas by establishing a good working relationship between the Frontier House and the Governor’s House.

Talking to newsmen after a meeting with Governor Ali Mohammad Jan Orakzai at the Governor’s House on Thursday, Maulana Fazl said the problems of Fata could be resolved with mutual consultations.

The governor could play a greater role to restore normalcy in the volatile region, he said, adding that all parties concerned should set aside their own interests for resolving the issue.

Maulana Fazl had made a courtesy call on Mr Orakzai and congratulated him on assuming the office of the governor.

They exchanged views on the situation in Fata and other issues.—Online
