PESHAWAR, June 1: A local resident has accused the Peshawar District Police Officer Saeed Khan Wazir of implicating him in fake criminal cases at the behest of his nephew who is an army officer.

Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Thursday, Mir Ahmed Gul, a resident of Matni village of Peshawar, claimed that he was engaged in a land dispute with is nephew Colonel Zar Mohammad, Commandant of South Waziristan Scouts, for the last 14 years. He claimed that the DPO had jumped into their family dispute.

Mr Gul alleged that the DPO got registered a criminal case against him on May 30 with the Matni police station.

The area police had conducted four raids during the last 24 hours on his house, which caused sever mental torture to his family members. He said the police had made their lives miserable.

He claimed that the DPO wanted him to hand over his lands to Col Zar Mohammad. “It is a dispute between relatives and the DPO should desist from supporting either party through misuse of his official authority,” he added.

He said he submitted two applications with the Matni police but they were taking no action under the orders of their DPO. —Bureau Report
