Former Human Rights Watch executive director Kenneth Roth has commented on a video of devastated Gaza shared by UN’s Tom Fletcher, saying: “One way to commit genocide is by ‘deliberately inflicting’ on a group ‘conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part’”.
Roth was citing the UN’s “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide”, which defines what amounts to a genocide.
