NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, May 31: A large number of people of the Channa community observed a token hunger strike outside the Kandiaro press club on Wednesday against doctors of the Kandiaro taluka hospital.

They alleged that doctors of the hospital were responsible for the death of a woman and her newly-born child during a caesarean operation on May 17.

They alleged that Dr Masood Sehto and his wife, Dr Tasleem Sehto, posted at the taluka hospital, Kandiaro, contacted by Mushtaq for the delivery case of his wife. Both doctors referred them to their private clinic, Hassan Medical Centre, Kandiaro.

Mushtaq said that his wife’s blood pressure was high at the time of operation as a result of which his wife and the newly-born son died.

They said that Kandiaro police was not ready to register their FIR.

Kandiaro Taluka Nazim Syed Sarfaraz Ali Shah visited the hunger strikers camp and assured protesters that he will take up the matter with the concerned authorities. On his assurance, the protesters dispersed peacefully.
