DADU, May 31: A special team of the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), sub-division Dadu-II, disconnected power supply to about 300 commercial, industrial and residential unit here on Wednesday due to non-payment of electricity bills.

The special Wapda-Hesco team, led by SDO sub-division Dadu-II, Zainul Abedin Lund and, recovery magistrate Hesco, Sanaullah Khan, conducted raids in Phulji, Piaro, Jhallo, Markhpur and Moundar towns of Dadu taluka and disconnected about 300 power connections.

The SDO, Mr Zainul Abedin Lund, said that operation was launched in Dadu taluka against 3000 defaulters to recover outstanding dues amounting to Rs127 million.

He said that 24 defaulters were also arrested by the team.

RALLY: A large number of activists belonging to Sindh People’s Youth Organisation, Dadu district took out a rally here on Wednesday in protest against the media trial of PPP chairperson Ms.Benazir Bhutto. Led by the district president of SPYO, Mohammad Umer Panhwar, the protesters demonstrated outside the local press club.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Panhwar said that federal government was spending a massive amount on the media trial of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

He demanded that all fictitious cases registered against Ms Bhutto be withdrawn and she should be allowed to return to her own country.

He also demanded of the Sindh government to stop demolition of Sindhi settlement in Karachi and other parts of the province.
