SANGHAR, Feb 7: Three armed robbers were arrested after looting the house of Sanghar taluka Naib Nazim on Thursday.

Three robbers entered the house of Tasadduq Hussain Bajwa, the taluka Naib Nazim, pretending as his guests. They took out pistols, ordered the inmates to keep quiet and started collecting gold ornaments from the women and other valuables from the house.

A minor girl, daughter of Mr Bajwa, who was watching this from the drawing room, slipped to a neighbouring house and informed police on emergency telephone number 15.

When dacoits came out they found a police party and neighbours in the street.

The dacoits took shelter behind a pillar and fired on the police mobile.

The policemen jumped out from police van and returned the fire after taking positions.

ASI Piyar Ali Hingoro Hingoro caught hold of a dacoit and a head constable Ghulam Qadir grabbed another while the third one was overpowered by a citizen.

The arrested robbers were identified as Iqbal Shaikh son of Din Mohammad, the gang leader, and his accomplices, Munawwar and Mohammad Ali, residents of Tando Adam.

Police are interrogating them for other dacoities which were committed in recent past in the area.
