Two- goal Asif propels GPA

Published May 31, 2006

KARACHI, May 30: Mohammad Asif struck twice as Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) stunned HBL 3-2 to gain maximum points in All Pakistan Shaheed Anwer Bhai football tournament on Tuesday at Peoples Sports Complex.

GPA dominated the proceedings from the outset and deservedly took the lead in the 17th minute through a Asif solo effort.

Tariq Ali doubled the lead in 34th minute while Abdul Qayyum reduced the lead for HBL nine minutes later.

Asif struck his second in the 68th minute to make it 3-1 for GPA. Skipper Mohammad Tariq made no mistake for the bankers with a 89th minute goal but it was not enough to deny GPA taking full points.—Agencies
