KARACHI, May 30: Three ships with containers, diesel oil and edible oil were berthed at QICT, Fotco Terminal and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy rose to 67pc as seven ships were currently occupying berths to load and offload containers, rice, sugar, edible oil and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 72,464 tons comprising 65,171 tons of import cargo and 7,293 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Sita Camilla and Sealand Independence left the port. While a container vessel, Nedlloyd Muscat, was expected to take berth at QICT.

Two ships, Asian Gyro and Indonesia Star, carrying containers were due to reach on Wednesday.
