Soccer: Bankers in last eight

KARACHI, May 29: National Bank of Pakistan sailed into the quarterfinals of All-Pakistan Anwar Bhaijan Memorial football tournament by defeating Sindh Government Press 2-1 at People’s Stadium on Sunday.

All the three goals were scored in second half of the match.

Jamil Ahmed scored the opener in 52nd minute for the winners.

Zahid Taj netted the second goal two minutes before close of the play.

Lal Mohammad was the scorer for SGP in injury time.

In another match, played between Karachi South and Pak PWD shared spoils with a 2-2 draw.
