Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has told his US counterpart Donald Trump on Friday that the success of any peace initiative in the Middle East hinged on Israel ceasing its attacks, AFP reported citing his office.

During their phone call, Erdogan said that Turkiye had accelerated diplomatic efforts for peace but that “Israel ceasing its attacks is crucial for the success of initiatives aimed at establishing peace in the region,” the presidency said.
