KARACHI, May 29: Two ships carrying 47,743 tons of diesel oil and 17,100 tons of sugar were accommodated at Fotco Terminal and MPT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, three more ships with containers, diesel oil and edible oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 44pc as only four ships, Zara-III, Great Mary, Tai Pan-I and MT Sita Camilla, were busy in loading and unloading rice, sugar and diesel oil.

A cargo volume of 54,173 tons comprising 52,015 tons of import and 2,158 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was slow as only one ship, Paula, left the port, while Sita Camilla was due to depart. Three ships, Brainna, Nedllud Muscat and Loch Lomond, carrying containers and iron ore were due to arrive at the port, while MT Al- Mukhtarah with furnace oil was expected to reach on Tuesday.
