HYDERABAD, May 27: An experts’ committee will develop reading material on different aspects of the life of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai for class I to class XII and the Sindh Textbook Board Jamshoro will publish it.

This was decided by the Coordination Council for Promotion of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s Studies here on Friday at its meeting. Sindh University Vice-Chancellor and Chief Patron of the Coordination Council Mazharul Haq Siddiqui presided over it.

The meeting constituted a five-member committee of experts comprising, Dr Habibullah Siddiqui, Imdad Hussaini, Prof Dr Fahmida Hussain and Prof Saleem Memon, to develop supplementary reading material for the suggested syllabus.

The Sindh Textbook Board had offered services to publish books.

Participants appreciated the performance of the council and Institute of Sindhology for recording of poetry of Latif in the voice of Syed Saleh Mohammad Shah.

The meeting lauded the services of Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah for promoting the rural culture through his radio programme “Katchehri” and his unique voice.

The meeting agreed to include name of the Sindh Textbook Board as member of the council.

The council also appointed a two-member committee, comprising Dr Fahmida Hussain and Imdad Hussaini, to check the quality of recording.

Secretary Culture and Tourism Mahtab Akbar Rashdi, Dr Fahmida Hussain, Dr Habibullah Siddiqui, Imdad Hussaini, Dr Noor Afroz Khowaja, Mr Aziz Mehranvi, Prof Saleem Memon, Agha Noor Mohammad Pathan, Masood Qureshi, Inam Shaikh and Shaukat Hussain Shoro attended the meeting.
