SUKKUR, May 26: The Anti-Terrorism Court-II Sukkur and Larkana on Friday sentenced six men to two life terms each, ordered forfeiture of their properties and fined each of them Rs10,000 after founding them guilty of kidnapping for ransom.

The accused, Zamir Hussain, Bashir Ahmed, Faiz Mohammad, Ali Dost, Irshad Ali and Ali Bahar had on Oct 6 last year kidnapped Hafiz Ali Kalhoro after breaking into the house of Shahnawaz Kalhoro in Qaimuddin Kalhoro village, Khairpur, and holding the inmates at gunpoint.

Soon after the kidnappers left, the brother of the hostage, Shahnawaz Kalhoro, chased them with a party of villagers who caught up with the kidnappers and got the hostage released.

Shahnawaz then lodged an FIR at the local police station, after which police arrested the six accused and produced them before the court.
