KARACHI, May 26: The All-Pakistan Trade Unions Organization on Friday called for 60 per cent increase in salaries of government and semi-government employees and all other salaried classes in coming federal budget for fiscal 2006-07.

APTUO Vice President and labour leader Habibuddin Junaidi, in a Statement, said during the last few years inflation had soared to double. ''In such circumstances, it will be impossible for the common man to face price hike even after 60 per cent increase in salaries", he observed.

He urged the government to provide jobs to masses and improve salary structure of government and semi-government employees.
