Walkout against DCO’s remarks

SAHIWAL, May 25: A majority of district assembly members staged a walkout for passing indecent remarks by the DCO against the district government committee probing wrongdoing in the recruitment of the education department.

DCO Amjad Hamid Warraich reportedly passed some objectionable remarks when the district assembly met under the chair of its convener and Naib Nazim Malik Faisal Langrial.

This provoked the members and Shakeel Khan Niazi, Arshad Khan Bhutta, Tauqeer Zeeshan, Asif Mahmood, Ali Azhar Khan, Sajeela Sikandar, Farzana Abbas Kamboh and other members left the assembly in protest and demanded the transfer of the DCO.

The walkout broke the quorum and the assembly proceedings restarted after an interval of some half an hour.

District Nazim Rai Hassan Nawaz and the convener assured the house of putting the matter of DCO’s transfer before the Punjab chief minister and holding of an inquiry ag ainst him for corruption charges.
