DUBAI, May 24: International Cricket Council President Ehsan Mani's brother, Dilawar Mani, has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Cricket Club (ADCC).

“It’s indeed a very exciting challenge.

“We will try to maximize number of cricket days at the stadium and continue momentum of high-profile international competitions that has successfully begun with DLF Cup,” Mani said after his appointment.

ADCC Patron and Honorary Chairman of Emirates Cricket Board, Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, said exciting matches in DLF Cup generated much-needed interest for cricket in Abu Dhabi.

“Adding our state-of-art cricket stadium to equation, I believe new management team will successfully develop and further promote cricket in Abu Dhabi and region overall.”

Mani said new management team will aim to continue to develop and promote cricket at grassroots' level through Zayed Cricket Academy.

It will organise more domestic tournaments, host international events and organise Inter-emirates competition to maximize cricket days at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.—Agencies
