The Mandi Bahauddin deputy commissioner has ordered the closure of schools and colleges in 18 villages in the district’s Phalia tehsil, according to a notification seen by Dawn.com.

The notification stated that all public and private schools in the 18 villages from September 1-7 would be closed due to the ongoing floods and high water levels in the Chenab River.
