PESHAWAR, May 24: A meeting of the Provincial Selection Board (PSB) on Wednesday recommended officers for promotion to higher grade.

The meeting was presided over by the NWFP chief secretary and attended by additional chief secretary, senior member board of revenue and secretaries of the departments concerned.

According to a government handout, the PSB has recommended the acting charge appointment of 19 superintendents/private secretaries (BPS-16) against the posts of section officers (BPS-17) and the regular promotion of five section officers (BPS-17).

In the Excise and Taxation department, the PSB recommended the regular promotion of one BPS-18 officer to the post of director general (BPS-19). Likewise in the Agriculture Department, the PSB recommended the regular promotion of three research officers (BPS-17) to the post of senior research officers (BPS-18).

In the Health Department, the PSB has recommended regular promotion of two district ENT specialists from BPS-18 to BPS-19, two district pathologists from BPS-18 to BPS-19, one assistant professor ENT (BPS-18) to the post of associate professor ENT (BPS-19), one district radiologist from BPS-18 to BPS-19, 18 dental surgeons from BPS-17 to the post of dental surgeons of BPS-18 and two nursing superintendents/sister tutors/nursing instructors (BPS-17) to the post of chief nursing superintendents (BPS-18).

In the Schools and Literacy Department, the PSB has recommended the regular promotion of four officers of schools cadre (male) from BPS-19 to BPS-20 and acting charge appointment of two officers of schools cadre (male) from BPS-19 to BPS-20.

The NWFP health secretary has promoted Dr Shuja Riaz Ansari, assistant professor of oral surgery (BPS-18) to the post of associate professor of oral surgery (BPS-19) on regular basis and posted him at Khyber College of Dentistry, Peshawar, with immediate effect.

Dr Nisar Anwar, associate professor of nephrology (BPS-19) has been promoted to the post of professor of nephrology (BPS-20) on regular basis and posted him at KMC/KTH, Peshawar, with immediate effect. He would also be on probation for a period of one year.—APP
