Former Hurriyat chief held

SRINAGAR, Feb 6: Former APHC chairman, Syed Ali Gilani with his 20 companions were arrested today.

Syed Ali Gilani was arrested when he was on his way to Shopian to attend the 4th day (Qul) ceremony of the deceased religious scholar and former Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami, Maulana Hakim Ghulam Nabi, say Kashmir media Service.

He and his companions were stopped 15 kilometres from Srinagar near Pampore town and taken into custody. Details are awaited. —APP
