British-Pakistani businessman Waseem Aslam has presented Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi a cheque of Rs10 million for flood relief, state broadcaster Radio Pakistan reports.
Naqvi was quoted as saying that Pakistan is facing “the extreme flood of history”. He said that recent floods badly affected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, causing widespread destruction and displacing millions of people.
The interior minister reaffirmed that the government would not abandon those affected and added that Aslam’s financial contribution would be submitted to the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
