US envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, has said that the US expects Israel’s hostilities in Gaza to cease “by the end of the year,” Reuters reports.
In an interview on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier”, the US envoy said, “We think that we’re going to settle this one way or another, certainly before the end of this year.”
Witkoff said Israel was open to continuing discussions with Hamas. He added that Hamas has signalled it was open to a settlement.
