GWADAR: At least eight people were injured, two of them seriously, in a grenade attack on the outskirts of Turbat in Kech district late on Tuesday evening.

Officials said unidentified motorcyclists hurled a grenade in the Singkani Sar area before fleeing the scene. The explosion injured eight people who were present at the site.

Frontier Corps personnel and police arrived shortly after the blast and shifted the injured to the district hospital in Turbat.

The victims were identified as common citizens, namely Zafar, Murtaza, Shahzeb, Ashraf, Muhammad Hasam, Ehsan and Nadir.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
