Youth shot dead on resistance

SHEIKHUPURA, May 23: Four dacoits shot dead a youth and injured his sister on offering resistance here on Tuesday at Chiti Khothi on Jandiala Road. Reports said the robbers entered the house of traffic constable Abdul Sattar at night. As the gangsters were collecting valuables, constable’s wife Zaibun Nisa and his brother-in-law Shahzad woke up and put up resistance. As a result of which the dacoits opened fire, killing Shahzad and injuring Zaibun Nisa. The bandits made off with valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. B-Division police are investigating.

EXPAT KILLED: An expatriate was shot dead in Ahmedabad locality of Sangla Hill on Tuesday in Nankana Sahib district limits.

Reports said Haji Younas had recently returned from the UAE. On Tuesday, some unidentified men sneaked into his house and opened fire on him when he was asleep. Younas was removed to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Further investigation is under way. — Correspondent
