The Palestinian foreign ministry has strongly condemned the attack on Gaza’s Nasser Hospital and demanded the “cessation of the genocide” as per Chapter VII of the UN Charter.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemns in the strongest terms the heinous crime committed by the occupation forces against medical, relief, and journalistic teams at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis today, considering it a fully-fledged and documented war crime and crime against humanity, committed in full view of the international community,” the ministry wrote on X.

“It falls within the framework of the war of genocide, displacement, starvation, and annexation to which the Palestinian people are subjected, and a continuous attempt to conceal the truth of the massacres perpetrated by the occupation army, which shame the conscience of humanity.”

The ministry demanded the formation and deployment of a UN peacekeeping force to protect Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, as well as ensuring the sustainable delivery of aid to the coastal enclave.

Chapter VII of the Charter deals with action regarding threats to peace and acts of aggression, including measures such as severing diplomatic ties and deploying the armed forces of a Member of the United Nations.
