Man’s eyebrows, beard shaved by relatives over dispute

BAHAWALPUR: Seven people, including a woman, allegedly tortured a man and shaved his eyebrows, moustaches and beard in his house in Gulberg Colony, Multan, on Saturday,

According to New Multan police sources, victim Shabroze alias Babar was present in his house, when suspects Waseem, Amjad, Nihal, Farhan and woman Ruby along with two unidentified persons came there. They allegedly subjected Shabroze to severe torture and later shaved his moustaches, beard and eyebrows while Farhan’s wife Ruby made a video. The motive behind the act as stated to be a quarrel and exchange of hot words between Shabroze and Ruby, who were also relatives. The police on the complaint of Shabroze registered a case with no arrest.

RAPE: A van driver allegedly raped a 16-year-old girl student of a seminary at village 441/EB, Azimabad, in Burewala city police precincts.

According to police sources, the incident took place about three days ago, when suspect 45-year-old ‘K’ visited victim’s house and on the pretext of dropping her at the seminary took her along with him. On his way, the suspect administered the victim some intoxicated juice as a result she fell unconscious.

According to complainant ‘J’, the victim’s sister, the driver took her to nearby village 257/EB where he alleged raped her.

The complainant got registered the case three days after the incident. The medical examination proved the girl was raped. Police are conducting raid to arrest the suspect.

KILLED: A man, Abdul Shakoor, allegedly killed his addict son Ashraf with a hammer at Kasuri Chowk in Rajput Colony in the limits of New Multan police station on Saturday.

As per police and Rescue 1122, Abdul Shakoor allegedly killed his son Ashraf with a hammer over a family dispute. Police shifted the body to hospital for medical examination. Police claimed the arrest of suspect Shakoor from the scene adding that as deceased Ashraf was an addict, he used to quarrel in the house with his father.

SUCCUMBS TO BURNS: A 17-year-old boy Nawab Akhtar, who had attempted self-immolation about 10 days ago at his village 114/10-R near Jahania in Khanewal district on Aug 12, succumbed to his burns at Nishtar hospital, Multan, on Saturday.

According to Jahania police, Akhtar wanted to marry his relative (a widow) Shaheen and her relatives barred him from visiting her house. Akhtar got dejected and attempted self-immolation in front of her house on Aug 12. He was shifted in a serious condition to Multan hospital, where he died on Saturday.

According to police, deceased’s father Akhtar Jan in a complaint to police alleged that woman’vs relatives attempted to kill his son. At this Jahania police registered a case against widow Shaheen and her daughter Saba with no arrest.
