GUJRANWALA, May 22: A local court on Monday took serious note of issuing a fake computerised identity card by the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to a citizen and ordered stern action against the responsible officials.
Petitioner Abdul Qudus, the son of Abdul Rashid of Street No 6, Wazir Colony, Gill Road, received his ID card which was printed in English and usually used for overseas Pakistanis, with the photo of another person who is in Saudi Arabia.
When he approached the Nadra office, the officials concerned asked him to return the card for an inquiry, but he preferred to move the court.
Judge Wamiq Javed heard both the parties and ordered stern action against the responsible Nadra officials.
BAILED OUT: A minor boy, who was booked in a murder case and sent to jail on judicial remand by the Wahando police a few days ago, was bailed out by the additional district and sessions judge here on Monday.
The counsel pleaded before the court that accused Habibullah was 12 years old, but the police nominated him in a murder case along with other accused at the behest of the complainant party.
However, the court ordered to release him on surety bonds worth Rs100,000.
BUS: Punjab education minister Mian Imran Masood on Monday handed over keys of a bus to the Government College for Women, Satellite Town.
The minister who also inaugurated the airconditioned auditorium on the occasion promised to get funds for adding more classrooms to the existing building besides arranging 20 computers.

Speakers, including chief guest Nazir Masih, emphasised the need for creating awareness among the people about the disease.
