LAHORE, May 21: The PCB appointed scrutiny committee for LCCA should pay a surprise visit to the net in order to identify genuine clubs.

This was stated by Tahir Shah the president of Shaheen Club, an affiliated unit of the East Zone for which the long-awaited scrutiny is starting in Lahore from Monday.

The committee is headed by Abdul Jaleel Khan.

Tahir said that the committee had prepared a schedule of visits to the clubs, providing a chance to non genuine clubs to make temporary arrangements to show some activity.

He said that the committee had also decided to check score book of the clubs to examine the activities that were wrong.

Fictitious score books were being prepared by those clubs to show their activities, he said.

He said that a surprise visit was the only solution to examine the genuine club.

He said that hardly 10 clubs were running regular nets in Lahore while even various well-known clubs had not.

He said that in fact the PCB had no right to scrutinize any of the clubs as it did not give any financial assistantce to the clubs but was wasting million of rupees on their own salaries and on women cricket.

East Zone is the worst area as around 50 clubs are registered for which only six grounds are available.

After the East Zone, the scrutiny of West and North Zones will also be conducted till June 6.
