PESHAWAR: 200kg hashish seized

PESHAWAR, May 20: Customs authorities seized 200kg of hashish from a truck on Ring Road on Saturday and arrested two people.

The anti-smuggling wing had got information about smuggling of hashish from Bara to Punjab, said Customs Deputy Director Chaudhry Imran. A team intercepted the truck and seized 200kg of hashish concealed in it, he said. Javed Khan and Salamat Shah of Bara were arrested.

ARRESTED: City police have arrested 30 outlaws, including 14 proclaimed offenders, said a press release on Saturday.

It said the arrested proclaimed offenders included Mohammad Azam of Chamkani, wanted by Kabuli police in burglary and robbery cases; Noor Mohammad of Shahabkhel and Zarmat, wanted by Badhber police in murder and rape cases; and Asif of Ormar, wanted for narcotics smuggling.

Police also seized three Klashnikovs, three riffles, eight pistols and 227 bullets.
