LAHORE: Manga Mandi police on Monday registered a case against a young woman and her two male accomplices for allegedly kidnapping and beating a bus driver, accusing him of stealing her mobile phone.

A video clip surfacing on social media shows the woman beating the middle-aged complainant, Hamid, with a club and dragging the victim, who was crying for help.

The Manga Mandi police lodged a case on the complaint of the victim, who nominated the woman and her two male accomplices.

In the FIR, Hamid alleged that he had borrowed Rs8,500 from the woman and went to her house on Monday and returned the money.

He said when he returned at his job, the woman called on his phone, accusing him of stealing her mobile phone from her house.

The victim said that soon after, the woman came along with her two male accomplices, kidnapped him and took him to her house, where the suspects locked him in an attached room.

He said that the suspect and her accomplices subjected him to severe torture, recorded a video of the episode and posted it on social media.

He said the suspects later disappeared saying that they would come back again to teach him a lesson for stealing the mobile phone.

The complainant said that on finding an opportunity, he escaped from the suspect’s house and reached the police station to lodge a case against them.

A police official said that a team has been dispatched to trace and arrest the woman and her two accomplices after lodging an FIR against them.
