BAHAWALPUR: Police allegedly arrested around 50 PTI activists in Multan and Vehari to prevent them from staging protests on Independence Day.

As per local sources, in Multan, PTI activists were arrested from various localities falling within the jurisdictions of Shah Shammas, Muzaffarabad, Cantonment and Jalilabad police stations.

Meanwhile, Multan Bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered release of the PTI’s Vehari tehsil president Sheikh Khurram Wahid.

The LHC Multan Bench ordered release of the party official after Vehari deputy commissioner submitted his release orders with the court an a writ petition in which Khurram had challenged his detention orders.
