The Palestinian fighter group Hamas has accused Israel of being “barbaric” in its attacks that kill “defenceless civilians, while also engineering starvation and chaos”, Al Jazeera reports.

The Hamas statement published on Telegram said Israel has shown it will not change course despite growing international outcry.

“We highly appreciate the state of popular solidarity around the world, and we call for its continuation,” said Hamas, specifically urging Arab and Muslim countries to pressure the US to intervene and help restrain Israel.
